First National Bank Monroe

First National Bank (FNB), based in Ruston, entered the Monroe market with a retail banking facility that incorporates cutting edge technology and iconic forms of the financial industry.

The project was constructed in a Design-Build contracting basis with the contractor procuring our services due to successful prior banking projects designed by our firm. Relying on my firm for the design and project management expertise, the team was able to deliver to the project from initial design to completion in less than 9 months.

Conceptually, the building and site elements are designed to maximize use of a tall single story building mass based on classical proportions and modern detailing to provide an bold street presence and maximize the drive-thru and parking area available from the existing site. Extensive exterior LED lighting at glass building columns, site entrance portal and 4” thick solid glass monument sign also add to the street presence of the facility.

Retail banking area includes custom designed teller pods, open lobby desk, banking offices and conference room to provide a mix of customer transaction options for FNB. The facility includes along with the retail bank facility, an adjacent insurance office suite. Unique to this facility and never done before by Diebold, the provider for the banking equipment, is a remote transaction system integrated with the teller/retail banking transaction system at the interior teller pods and coordinated by ASW to eliminate the typical drivethru-window and reduce required staff and use of space.

Materials utilize the very latest technologies including precast architectural concrete mass exterior walls, composite metal exterior skin, all glass interiors, exterior glazed curtain walls, very large format Italian floor tile, walnut veneered cabinets, woodwork along with furniture and art, selected and coordinated for this project.
